Tours for guests arriving by Cruise Ship
Usually cruise ships are on a tight schedule, so time is of the essence. Gili Islands Tours understand the importance of being on time, especially for re-boarding of your ship.  Despite what the cruise liners tell you, very few guests have ever missed a ship!  Not one of the guests who did miss their ship went on a Gili Islands Tours tour!!!  We are always on time. With limited time ashore, it is important from the outset to design a tour itinerary which is both time efficient, but also takes in the sights and attractions our guests wish to see. All cruise ships arrive on Lombok at Lembar Harbour, but because the harbour is quite shallow (and the large tides we experience here), it is necessary for all guests to be taken ashore by tender.  This is a tedious and slow process, so it does take time, and of course guests booking those expensive ‘ships tours’ are given priority, so they are the first to land. Don’t be put off though, normally all guests are ashore within an hour or so. What you can see and do in 6 hours ashore… Visit the beautiful temples of Pura Lingsar, explore a traditional Sasak Village, visit the Mataram traditional arts market, have a beach-front lunch What you can see and do in 8 hours ashore… Visit Narmada Water Palace, home of the original kings of Lombok, explore a traditonal Sasak Village, hand feed the local wild monkeys at Pusuk Monkey Forest, visit Autore Pearl farm at Bangsal Harbour, take a relaxed beach-front lunch, visit Mataram art market.. OR Take the road less travelled and take a traditional outrigger boat to go snorkelling on a secluded tropical island just one hour from Lembar Harbour, explore the coral reefs just off the beach, enjoy a relaxed lunch at a beach-front restaurant, take a walk through a traditional fishing village OR Visit the stunning beaches of southern Lombok such as Tanjung Aan, Kuta Beach, or any of the many other beaches, stop at a traditonal pottery village where these stunning works of art, which are highly sought after around the world are skilfully crafted by the artisans, visit a traditional weaving village to see demonstrations of how these beautiful, highly sought-after textiles are created. What you can see and do in 10 hours ashore… Visit the amazing waterfalls located on the very northern end of Lombok…  set among lush tropical rainforest, the waters for these waterfalls are gathered on the slopes of Mount Rinjani volcano (still active) and chanelled down to create these beautiful falls. Travel north past the main tourism area of Senggigi, and into the mountains where you can hand feed the local wild monkeys, after which you will wind down from the mountains and into a major agricultural area where much of Lombok’s rice is cultivated in traditional paddy fields. After arriving at Senaru, take a walk through the village, and visit the traditonal market there. Arrive at the waterfalls after a 15 minute walk which takes you down to the floor of the valley where the waterfalls can best be appreciated. Take lunch at the Senaru Restaurant overlooking the waterfalls On the return toward Lembar Harbour, stop at Bangsal Harbour for a visit at the Autore Pearl factory which is the production facility and showroom for this world famous pearl farming business. Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep waterfalls are stunning, and well worth a visit. No matter what you would like to do, we will happily design a tour itinerary to suit your tastes and the time you have. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us at any time.
